Every service begins with present-tense, voluntary consent and ends with the same principle: any person may stop or withdraw consent at any time.

Before any signing

Six conditions must be true.

These standards are not a judgment of anyone's private life. They are the minimum conditions for an ethical notarial appointment.

    Every signer appears voluntarilyNo threats, pressure, manipulation, or duress.

    Every signer has capacityNo impairment, severe distress, or inability to understand.

    Every signer has read the documentThe parties—not the notary—choose and understand the terms.

    A stopping protocol existsSafewords or nonverbal signals must be clear and honored.

    The document contains no prohibited termsNo illegal activity, coercion, minors, trafficking, or waiver of legal rights.

Consent remains active

Written once. Reaffirmed continuously.

Past agreement is not present consent. A signed document cannot predetermine how a person will feel, what they will tolerate, or whether they may stop.

Ask

Discuss expectations, limits, risks, and signals before the appointment.

Confirm

Check that agreement is current, specific, informed, and freely given.

Respect

Honor pauses, hesitation, safewords, nonverbal signals, and changed decisions.

Revisit

Update or revoke documentation whenever boundaries or circumstances change.

Automatic refusal

Some documents will not be notarized.

Kink Notary may stop or refuse service whenever identity, capacity, voluntariness, legality, or ethical safety is uncertain.

Coercion or duress

Pressure, threats, fear, manipulation, visible distress, or unequal ability to leave.

Illegal or exploitative terms

Minors, trafficking, prostitution elements, criminal conduct, or prohibited harm.

Loss of autonomy

Purported ownership, permanent surrender of personhood, or waiver of legal rights.
